*** Carnegie Mellon Class of 2019 RD Discussion and Results Thread***

@brooklynilene‌ I don’t understand why they don’t ONLY reveal decisions through the portal. That’s what most colleges do. Then colleges send additional information weeks later through the mail.

does this mean that mails have also been sent out to international students as well??

@brooklynilene Sounds like for a university with such a hi tech reputation, their admissions committee is out of touch with how to use technology to make their procesess more user focused. why bother with first sending it on paper. folks nowadays are used to consuming digital information and can do away with the nostalgia of opening the mail, especially if it means knowing the decision days later. get with the times, CMU.

Got the thin envelope for my international student but living in the US with us. He is currently out of town so I don’t know what is inside but it didn’t say Fat package on the envelope and the postage cost is $ 0.48. So it should be first class US mail, not priority mail. The envelope is white with CMU heading on the left.

Our mail was delivered in Seattle, no letter yet. So we’ll learn tomorrow in any case…

Whoever gets accepted should download the quad app and join the Carnegie Mellon group

If I study as a boarding school student in PA and have not received a packet yet, that means I am out.
Right?

NO. Just wait for the portal to go live. People are posting incorrect info. Good luck to everyone

No mail in Houston today either.

Nothing in the mail :frowning:

(NYC)

That’s odd, I’m in the Klein area which isn’t far outside of Houston and received my packet yesterday.

Nothing in the mail in NorCal today. But last acceptance came a day or so later than everyone else on CC.

Waitlisted for Science
Rejected from Computer Science

Does the priority waiting list mean anything?
Also, I’m from Maryland.

Nothing in the mail in Pittsburgh (!) today. Sign?

@paxman18 What kind of envelop do you get from waitlist?

@Paxman18 - what are your stats? Trying to determine likelihood of my son getting in. Thanks!

Bay area. Postman just came and nothing. I know I was wait listed for my 2nd choice (IS). Anyone in bay area got acceptance?

Nope. I’m also in Bay area but nothing in the mail.

@1965dad‌ @befree8‌
It came in a normal envelope, but it was a little fatter from the two papers inside.
