**Carnegie Mellon ED Discussion Thread 2014**

Yea that’s the point :frowning: It’s not true 112 experience :’(

Although it would be death to do full 112 over the summer hah

dang it looks like almost everyone applied to CIT last year as opposed to SCS this year…

Still plenty of CS :stuck_out_tongue: don’t base the applicants pool on a forum most people probably don’t even know about :P

@weiyourenma‌ : Did you apply CIT or SCS?

i applied SCS

@weiyourenma‌ : Besides doing the summer program, did you do anything rlly cool related with CS?

i did a couple internships at the university of maryland, working with software for epidemiology and MRI scanning, but other than that, not really haha

“Other than that”

Awesome. I interned/worked at a startup that me and a couple of college students at Northwestern found. Other than that, I just made 2 android apps and 3 iOS apps, one of which is now a startup I am regularly working on and hiring peers for. I regularly attend hackathons. Also made an app catered to individuals with dyslexia for the iPhone(I made that count as volunteering). University of Maryland looks like a beast school woaahhh…

dang that is a lot of stuff related to CS - you seem very well qualified for SCS! (if your academics/test scores are up to par as well haha)

i chose science olympiad competitions over hackathons during my high school career :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah. Same with you bro. I got a 34 on the ACT, how about you(on the SAT or ACT?). My GPA sucked my freshman and sophomore year, but there is a good reason for that, and I explained that in my essay as did my counselor on her’s(how about u?).

academics and test scores are like the strongest part of my application i think…2350 SAT and 4.0

5 Hours 15 Minutes. I should eat dinner but I’m really not hungry at all. I’m soooo anxious.

@weiyourenma‌ : That’s awesome. That definetly is. Awesome bro. Hope your essays were awesome. If they were, you’re def. getting in. :)

@pevsis‌ : So true. Wasn’t able to focus on hwmrk all day nor eat my lunch peacefully.

@weiyourenma you beat me by 10 points! I have a 2340.

@pevsis 10 points honestly does not matter whatsoever!

For those who did an alumni interview, does it say it under the “admissions documents received” on the “Where Am I in the Process” page?
