I got accepted to CMU college of science and to U delaware's college of business. The choice should be obvious (Carnegie Mellon), except that I am getting $0 in aid from both schools.

So is it worth it to pay $47k for Carnegie Mellon instead of just $25k for Delaware? I will probably try to transfer to UPenn or Cornell from either school, no matter which one I pick. It just seems stupid to turn down Carnegie Mellon for Delaware, but $22k a year is a lot of money.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Speaking as an alumna, it is definitely worth it.

My question is what will happen if the schools you try to transfer into reject you? Are you going to be happy? I think if your main goal is to transfer than honestly save yourself some money and go to a community college and then transfer. Even if you don't get accepted it's not like if you wouldn't qualify for admissions for CMU or Delaware as a transfer student in the future, or other better schools.

It is so worth it. The salary gaps between the schools are pretty huge. You can visit the CMU boards to verify such.
