haha I’m a Chinese girl. I’m on varsity swimming, I do student council and newspaper, i’ve won a lot of math and science awards, and i play flute and piano very well. there’s more, but i don’t feel like writing all of it.

well, i called them and demanded.
Rejected. at least that was over.

i don’t know about but it seems like diversity (race/ethnicity-wise) matters more than grades and ecs… sadly

Absolutely not. I’m aAfrican American.
Don’t you dare gripe, i’m bitter enough.

@nil desperandum sorry!! i didn’t mean any offense…

i honestly dont know why i’m still so cranky about this after 24 hrs - probably should’ve applied to more programs… the good/bad thing about this program was that it was free and not impossible like telluride for me

I’m sorry you guys I really am.

@ummmm: i’m still getting over MITES if that helps

actually if i think about doing work this summer, i don’t feel so bad. yeh it’s been a day and i really should stop whining

i’m just freaked out about how hard i’m gonna take college decisions next year -_-

@turkey what’s mites?

MITES is a… is a… here’s the link:About, its to hard to talk about lol

and I know exactly what you mean. My junior year is over in 11 days. If I get rejected from SAMS then I’m doing some volunteer work at the library and a week long program at gatech

it’s okay. I’m hurt that I’m a triple reject. But now I know not to set my eyes on any ivies Next Year. I feel like a failure right now; but maybe it will get better in like, 20 years.

triple? that really sucks… at least you were good enough to be one of those few who got interviewed for TASP - thats pretty hard

now our summers will be spent…doing…wutever -_-

i’m a quadruple reject. MITES, SAMS/APEA, NJ GSET, NJ Scholars. well quintuple if you count sams and ap/ea as separate. i’m doing research at a local university though with a professor. idk how thats gonna work out.

don’t say that nil! just because you didn’t get into those summer programs doesnt mean you should give up on your colleges!

lexluthor - My son’s friend is in central NJ. He is a senior now and will attend Princeton this fall. He was rejected for all the summer programs and NJ Scholars at his junior year but he ended up doing a research with a professor. Don’t be upset, you are good, summer program is just a tiny part of your life !!!

Hey guys! I emailed them asking about when should the acceptance/rejection letters be coming in and they said I got into SAMS. I’m really excited :)

lexluthor: I don’t even have a professor to research with.

Congrats shooting for the stars— enjoy it!

good summer to all!!
although we have to finish our APs/finals… 3 down… 2 more to go next week…

I’m still gonna stay on this thread like a stalker…;)

@nil desperandum: Thank you!

For anyone else who got accepted, introduce yourself if you please.

I’ve been placed on the wait list. We’ll see where it goes…
