Nada
just called… and got rejected.
You can call this number: 412-268-2082 and there will be people before 5 pm to answer it, if you want to find out whether or not you got accepted.
this is the second time i applied too!
I would call but I can’t go anyway lol
@quillfeather Thanks for the tip and the telephone number. I immediately called on behalf of my son, and he too was NOT accepted. The person that answered the phone was able to share information after being given full name of applicant and then zip code. At least we have the results in order to focus on other possible plans for the summer.
For anyone that is looking for a last minute options with a later deadline: We recently learned about Ole Miss Summer College (30 day residential)…take courses for credit, also has a research option…if you have minimum of 15 high school credits and at least a 3.0 you can get in (deadline June 1…earlier for research option). It had various program options, engineering, computer science, several non-stem, honors track, etc. It has a program cost, but if ACT score or SAT score meets a threshold there is an automatic scholarship that covers the program cost, if they are a little lower then scholarship for partial cost. The full program fee (without any scholarship) is fairly reasonable compared to many programs (a little over $2000). Not necessarily “prestigious” or “highly competitive”, but a solid enrichment option for the summer. And…if tests scores are great, then free or reduced cost. http://www.outreach.olemiss.edu/schs/index.html
I asked and they gave through call. Rejected, but happy with the whole experience of applying. Good luck to the rest of you!
I got a rejection letter in the mail but an ACCEPTANCE letter in an email. Wtf? These people aren’t serious. I have happily enrolled in Cornell’s Summer Program. Although it is much more expensive, it is very fit towards my interest.
Ugh, the dissonance
@0br0123 SAME!! I got a rejection letter from SAMS today, but an hour ago, I just got the email that said that I was accepted into the AP/EA program. I think they did the program selection separately. When I called them they said I was rejected, but I guess they never specified which program…? So yeah, I don’t know whether to feel happy or not because I already enrolled in another summer program. WHY did they send the letters out this late??
@jasli98 IKR! I have already enrolled and fallen in love with my current program. Most programs respond at the end of April or beginning of MAY. What take’s these guys so long? And i’m SO confused bc my rejection letter was specific to the SAMS but my acceptance letter was for the Diversity program for the AP/EA program! I don’t know whether to cancel my current program at Cornell or just go through it. $6,000 vs $100. My head hurts
@0br0123 I applied and got into the Harvard Summer School, and I had to pay like $5000 by May 18 since that was the deadline. But thankfully I called the Summer School today and asked for a refund and they agreed to pay me back what I had paid. So I guess I’m going to Carnegie Mellon this summer. What I would suggest is asking them for a refund if you still want to go to Carnegie Mellon, but if you like Cornell better…
@jasli98 LUCKY. I’m currently begging Cornell for a refund
Have anyone received the formal acceptance letter and the booklet that the email mentioned?
The deadline for saving the spot is May 29. Monday is a holiday. I haven’t got it yet.
I havent received anything still
@zhengjun I just emailed them saying I would send in the deposit and the letter later along with the rest of the material so that they would know I’m still interested but it’s probably going to take awhile for the package to get to my house. But if you want to read it early, the pdf file is online somewhere, just google it.
jasli98, Thank you.I found the PDF file online. That helps.
Got a full refund from Cornell. Can’t wait for CMU this summer
@zhengjun I received the actual package in the mail. It came with the forms I have to fill and a booklet and stuff.
Damn, still can’t believe I got $10,000 to attend this program. #blessed
0br0123, So nice that you got full refund from Cornell.
I turned down other camps that I had already confirmed. Those are free camps too.
One camp had ordered t-shirt for me. I don’t feel good of cancelling after I confirmed.
Yeah I fell kinda of bad lol, oh well. What classes do you plan on taking? @zhengjun
