The decision is revealing in about 8 hours. Good luck to everyone!

45 minutes left. Good luck!

10 minutes mates… good luck

No for my son SCS… sigh

accepted to for engineering

My son has applied for ED in College of Engineering (Electrical & Comp Engineering). His UW GPA is 3.92, SAT 1490 (790 Math and 700 ERW), Subject test 800 (M) and 740 (Chem). He was rejected . Disappointed !

Accepted to SCS! SAT 1550 (800 Math and 750 ERW)

Just rejected from Information Systems :frowning:

son rejected from Engineering, 1580, 3.806 UW. slightly disappointed, but fully expected.

son got accepted to School of Engineering,
SAT 1560 (800 math, 760ERW) superscore, 3.78 UW GPA
SAT II: Math II C 800, Physics 770, Chem 770
AP Scores: Chemistry 5, Physics 1 4
Current AP classes: Physics C Mechanics, Physics C E&M, Calculus BC, Psychology

Son was rejected from SCS (not a surprise, like in-state for UIUC was)

SAT 1600
SAT II Math II 800, Physics 780
ACT 36
AP Scores: CSA 5, CALC BC 5, APUSH 4, US Govt 5, Physics 1 4, Eng Lit & Comp 4
Current APs: AP Chem, AP Stats, AP Physics C, AP French V
UWGPA 3.92, WGPA 4.49

Lots of relevant ECs
PT jobs (summer paid internship in tech support with school district, current internship of 20 hrs/wk in CS, 1 year of PT work at restaurant at same time as both) on top of most rigorous schedule possible

Like I said, not a surprise here. Now onto trying for ED II at another school he also loved!

Accepted to Information Systems
ACT 35 ,Maths 800 ,Physics 740 ,unweighted gpa 3.9, weighted 4.35, Top 10 percent of school, good ECs , NMSF, leadership in one of my EC, great recommendations, good essay, good relevant summer internship project helped.

Accepted to Information Systems.
ACT 35. Maths 800, Physics 700. Unweighted GPA 3.75. Weighted 4.46. 10 APs (including Senior Year). Highly competitive school district. Decent ECs, Varsity Player. Very good essays.
I think Essays, ACT scores and course rigor may have helped.

I was accepted to school of engineering and i thought i should share my stats for prospective students bc i feel like lots of people who share their stats only share them bc they KNOW they have good stats.
It’s important to remember that there’s often grade inflation in suburban/private schools, and that urban public schools usually don’t have as much grade inflation (and i go to an urban public school).

weighted gpa: 3.62
ACT: 35

and I was ACCEPTED! To those who are going to apply next year, don’t get discouraged bc the people in this thread who got rejected had high stats!! you don’t know their whole story - they could have possibly had poorly written essays, grade inflation, or mediocre ECs.

Thanks for the info guys!

@stem4ever You mentioned you go to an urban public school; that’s your hook into a selective college. Since not many urban high school students applying to selective colleges like CMU, you have their priority consideration. Several rejects on this thread have much better academic stats than you though. A weighted GPA of 3.62 is not good by any standard. That’s like B average unweighted. Once in college, you will feel the difference in classroom.

Rejected for Statistics that is under the humanities college(forget about the name

SAT 1460(took the Dec Sat and got 1530 but you know it is the dec test. sad
SAT II: Math II 800, Physics 790
AP Scores: Calc BC 5, Physics 1 5, Physics Mechanics 5, Physics 2 4, Physics EM 4.
Current APs: APUSH, stat, and chem
WGPA: 4.05

I checked on other forums and the main problem is probably not my SAT score(they all pretty much got the same), but because I don’t really have any activities related to mathematics(the only thing that fits is an independent study for statistics starting this senior year). No mathematics contests or AMC. All my activities are related to community services and art with like one exception. I tried to sell the interdisciplinary-ness(I do have an art portfolio and took the Art Portfolio class in my school but CMU don’t take supplements. sad) but meh.

Ah forget to mention this. Asian female international student.
