Carnegie Mellon vs Emory???

Hi everyone, I really need input. I was accepted to both Carnegie Mellon and Emory, but I like them both equally. However, I’m not sure which would be the best for what my end goals are.

For Carnegie Mellon, I was accepted to the Mellon College of Science (MCS) under the chemistry major, and for Emory, I was accepted to the main campus under the chemistry major as well. I’ve spoken to current students, and I can definitely see myself at either. I intend on following the pre-med track, so I heard that Emory is the way to go for that. However, I really do love chemistry and CMU is great at that.

Overall, I just need help choosing and weighing the pros and cons of each college. For example, I love the northeast, but I’m not so sure about the rainy Pittsburgh weather where CMU is located.

Thanks so much! I appreciate all input!

Emory, it’s in a better city not only weather-wise but entertainment wise. Also, pre-med at Emory allows for better advising. CMU chemistry is geared toward chemical engineering, while Emory’s is more biochemistry.

“CMU chemistry is geared toward chemical engineering”

Basis for that statement? They’re in 2 different colleges. I started ChemE before moving to MechE and my future wife graduated Chemistry. I saw no relationship between the two.
