Hey guys I am torn between these two schools. I plan on studying chemical engineering.
Can anyone give some insight onto which I should go to (providing reason; pros + cons etc.)
Also each will cost the same amount so that is not a factor.

Thanks

Carnegie Mellon
Pros: -Better overall ranking
-Better ChemE ranking
-Active city (Pittsburgh)

Cons:
-Very difficult and harsh workload
-I heard people don’t have the most fun there

Villanova
Pros:
-Nice Campus
-Good social life
-Respected Engineering School

Cons:
-Doesn’t compare to Carnegie Mellon
-Not in city

I would pick Carnegie Mellon but its up to you. Congrats on both schools.

Don’t know if you have made your decision.
At Candidates Day this past Friday the presentation by Randy Weinstein, Ph.D.Professor and Chair Department of Chemical Engineering was terrific.
I went to early action candidates day back in february and am going to be a chemical engineering student as well. The engineering facilities at Villanova are fantastic. the engieering students I met were able to secure top internships and research opportunities. Like Brave Ulysses above, I can attest to the quality of Professor Weinstein. He is extremely engaging and could even be the reason you choose Villanova over Carnegie Mellon. Good luck!
