Hey Everyone! I was accepted into Carolina Global Launch today and wanted to start a thread for those of us who have also been accepted. Wondering if there is an instagram account for the program.

how were you notified of your acceptance into global launch?

my son was accepted for the fall but has not heard about whether he was accepted into global launch -

my acceptance letter said that im accepted into launch for first semester and then chapel hill for second

it would be in his acceptance letter I believe

My son was also accepted to Spain. Do you know how many kids go to each country?

Last year it was supposed to be 25 kids per country but I am not sure what this year is

My daughter was accepted into Spain as well. Exciting opportunity!

From what I understand, 20 students per country.

Hello,
I just found out I was accepted into the Carolina Global Launch Program. Does that mean that I was not accepted into UNC Chapel Hill?
The only way I will attend the Chapel Hill is if I do the Carolina Global Launch Program right?

Yes.

Well, since I was not accepted into UNC Chapel Hill. Does that mean that I have to reapply for the semester of Spring 2022 after the Carolina Global Launch?

No. Once you go to Carolina global launch in the fall you will go to Chapel Hill for the spring semester. You are a UNC student but you are just starting your time at UNC in Ireland

My kid was accepted for this program, anyone who has attended (Ireland) in the past who can give feedback on their experience? I know it was cancelled last year, any idea if this is a possibility that it could get cancelled for this Fall as well given the UK variant issue?

Last year was the first year for it I think. And yes it was cancelled. There is no way to predict what will happen in the fall. Last year the kids in Global Launch were allowed to start in Chapel Hill (but were only there for a few days before it closed down). There was some talk about requiring community college in the fall with a January start but that never materialized.

My son was accepted to Ireland and he confirmed his participation today. He is very excited about this adventure! I spoke with Robert at UNC and he made me feel more comfortable with this decision. With the COVID vaccine becoming more widely available, I don’t think there will be any problem with the program going as planned. (Beginning next week, my son will be able to get his vaccine here in Florida.) We are both anxious to connect with others who will be joining him in Ireland.
