So I got the invite and it seems really cool. I couldn't find much about it online, except this blog post http://admissions.unc.edu/tar-heel-launch/

I am definitely taking part in this...any thoughts on parents going??? I'm instate plus I visit friends in Chapel Hill alone anyway... Just wondering what others are doing because I don't want to be like the only person there alone.

My son also received an invitation to Launch. It sounds like it may be a new program and definitely something to attend. If it did exist last year I would love to hear some feedback on the event as well.

I got the email and signed up. The April date is already full (thankfully I got in). I am wondering who got invited and who didn’t. My friend didn’t and we had very similar stats–just different majors (I am undecided, he is econ). Is it only undecided kids or random?

I was not undecided (JOMC) and my best friend applied as a Chemistry major and we were both invited with similar stats. We are in state and previously attended recruiting events at UNC so maybe that has something to do with it? I really am not sure as to how we were chosen.

I got the email, but when I log into the ConnectCarolina Portal, I cannot figure out where to RSVP. Help please!

@CarolinaGirl, I’d like to know too! I thought Carolina doesn’t care about demonstrated interest, but maybe.

@Nishi, It’s under MyCarolina on the very top where it says events.

including me, 3 out of my 5 accepted friends got invites…we are all instate and one also got an excel invite (fantastic academics and legacy) , the other is a first gen minority, and I have really good everything except test scores with no other hooks

in other words can’t really find a trend
