I know parking is mad expensive, but are freshmen allowed to have cars? If so, is anyone considering bringing one first semester? I think I would bring it second (for the worst of winter).

you're allowed to have a car second semester of freshman year. it's like 600 dollars i think. i won't be bringing a car my first year

You're allowed to have a car FIRST semester frosh year, its $500 for parking.

$604.41 per year.

is that with tax or something...i remember reading $500 on the cornell website earlier this year

i think the 600 figure is right, but i hear that you will also have like at least 200 dollars worth of parking tickets by the end of semester if you drive around camps because there is no where to park.

Very few frosh bring cars...it's just not necessary, is very expensive, and you end up driving everyone around.

plus my dad said he'd buy me a car for soph if i do well, soooo...yea no frosh car

Wow, I wish my parents would by me a car, haha... I just bought a used car for $6k, and that was soooooooooo painful writing that check... I plan to bring my car up freshman year because I will be getting a job off campus and the public-transportation isn't reliable enough to depend on it to get to a job on time every day... That's the only reason I would bring a car.
