CAS or School of Engineering

Hey guys,

i wanted to apply to tufts for Chemistry (or Chemical Engineering) and was wondering which is more suitable for the major: College of Arts and Sciences or College of Engineering

  1. I don't really mind the course requirements for either
  2. Which school will be more rigorous (major and required classes combines)
  3. Can I transfer early on in the year
  4. Where will I be able to pursue a minor more easily (economics, english, math or computer science)
  5. Which one is harder to get into (doesn't really concern me much), but I was just wondering which one is more competitive? 5.(part 2) I got decent score in Math 2 (750) and a good school in Chem(800) and I was wondering which college will weigh my SAT 2 scores more heavily in the admission process. I really really wanna go to Tufts

just a side questions… how is the financial aid for international students at tufts… I will be applying ED2.

thank you guys very much I will really appreciate the help.
Cheers and good luck to everyone else applying. =)

  1. ChemE is probably considered more "rigorous" as there are more requirements overall and more math/science classes in Engineering majors.
  2. I want to say transfering is pretty easy at Tufts but I don't have any actual experience with this
  3. minor is definitely easier in A&S, although it's possible in either school.
  4. A&S was 16% acceptance rate last year and Engineering was 15% so they're practically equal. You should keep in mind though that more girls apply to A&S and more guys apply to Engineering. I can't confidently say anything about SAT2 scores. Also I don't know much about Tufts FA for internationals.

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. really appreciate it

Hope I get in. I would love to go to Tufts
