<p>Would this be the best route to take to work towards becoming a product/industrial design engineer? </p>

<p>In general you can cross register 1 class/semester at CIA or a number of other schools provided you meet the requirements for the class - taken the Pre-Requiste or if a Portfolio is required etc. I'm not a Mechanical Engineer (i'm biochem) so if you got in touch with the Admissions department I'm sure they'd be able to get you in touch with some profs and students in the respective areas.</p>
