Hi guys…
I’m choosing between Case and 2 top universities in Australia (Uni of Melbourne and Uni of Sydney)
I want to major in Political Science and history
any suggestions?
thankssss XD
Where do you want to work? If you want to work in the US, I’d choose Case. Especially, if you aren’t going to graduate school immediately after.
The weather in Melbourne is a little different than Cleveland’s. Is that going to be an issue?
You really should pay attention to the visa issues and your plans for the long term, if you are coming the US on a student visa, changing it to a residential visa isn’t easy, In australia, Asian students who study at uni seem to get perm res as a perk of their studies, now the current climate could very well change that, Australia is finally joining the GFC several years later and that could affect visa generosity.
Personally, I cannot imagine choosing Case over Sydney or Melbourne but I really don’t know how they compare for your major. Case was a safety for you? It seems that your academic profile suits the Aus schools really. I only know about case as my kid is looking at engineering. You have two top international school options and …then you have Case.

@Alfonsia Firstly, thank you for such detailed response. I rlly wanted to attend uni in US initially, I spent a lot of time on SAT and all… I applied to Australia using my Ib scores… I cant see myself choosing case over two top international unis either… as I’ve said… I will apply to graduate school in the US even if i attend undergrad in Aus… So idk what i should do… and I’m still waiting on 3 other WL from unis in the US… I applied to Case cuz it didn’t require supp and it was free… so i didn’t do any research abt this school. and now that i started to know more… it seems that Case is quite good for science related majors… however, i want to major in Poli Sci/ History…
@cle4life the weather is not an issue lol
I was thinking that even if i were to attend uni in australia , then i would apply Graduate school in the US…
Depending on what you want study in grad school and depending on whether you’ll do a master or PhD, getting fully funded can be difficult. Pursuing the cheaper undergraduate degree may be best.
