I am really interested in pre med and engineering (compsci, biomedical, or mechanical). I have heard great things about WashU and Davidson, but have to pay full price for both. I haven't visited Case Western yet, but the scholarship is pretty attractive. I have heard the pre med program is really strong at Davidson, but it doesn't have any engineering programs except for a dual degree program with WashU or Columbia. At WashU, on the other hand, I can pursue both pre med and engineering, but I have heard that pre med is pretty hard at WashU. I am pretty confused at this point.

You can’t get any better than Case for engineering and pre-med! Davidson is a pretty small, liberal arts school, which is pretty out of place for the programs you’re looking for. Your best choices would be WashU or Case, which are both very close in the rankings for engineering programs. I’d say it all comes down to preference- They’re both in large cities and have roughly the same number of students (Case is about 4500 + 6000 grad, WashU is 6000 grad- not sure the number of grad). The sports are about the same at both school too- they’re both DIII and actually play each other!
All in all, they’re pretty similar. If it comes down to money, Case gives great scholarships and financial aid so it would probably be your best choice!

It makes sense to save $100,000 and go to CWRU. You’ve got your engineering covered, plus a pretty good medical school admission track record. Google it, and you can find out where the pre-med track grads ended up at med school over the past several years. You’ll find them at the top med schools in the US.
