Case Western or UMiami for premed?

I am torn between which of these two schools i should go to. I plan on going to medical school so am i debating which of these schools would put me on a better path to get in to a great med school 4 yrs from now. Here are the reasons why i am struggling between these 2 schools:

Case Western: great school for medicine primarily biology, but much harder school than UMiami and getting good grades is hard. The social life is lacking a lot. I would be able to participate in a d3 sports program here, but would being able to do a sport i love at the varsity level compensate for a lower gpa then i would get at UMiami and a much worse social life that i would recieve here.

UMiami: also a great school for biological studies but not quite on the same level as Case Western. Easier to get good grades here and the social life is AMAZING, but would the party lifestyle be a hindrance to my gpa. I also wouldn't be able to participate in varsity sports here even though i could do club, but would a varisty sport add more to a medical school application then just doing internships and research?

So basically, at UMiami i would have more fun, but do you think that the social life there is too big and i would end up partying too much which would lower my grades and make my gpa even to one that i would recieve at the reasonably harder case western? Also, for a medical school application, is doing a d3 sport and internships and research much more impressive than just doing club and internships and research?

Additional information: Weather isn't a big deal and i got the same amount of finacial aid from both.
Thank you guys, and i appreciate all responses!

“but would being able to do a sport i love at the varsity level compensate for a lower gpa”

No.

First of all, you can’t assume you’ll get a lower GPA at Case Western than UMiami. From a purely practical level, sometimes harder/more competitive schools practice grade inflation (like the Ivies) to keep their students competitive. Also, sometimes students thrive when they are challenged and get a higher GPA than they would at an easier school where they are not challenged.

However, it seems like you really want to go to UMiami and the only reason you are even considering Case Western is because it’s “better” than UMiami for premed. But “better” by whose standards? I’m sure there are many, many kids who go from UMiami to med school every year. You should go somewhere you believe you’ll be successful and get good grades, since high grades and a high MCAT score are really the most important things for med school admissions.

Medical schools do not care about your sports. They care about internships and research, but not clubs and sports.

How have you already received an acceptance and financial aid from both schools?

Are you a transfer student? How have you already rec’d FA info?

We have no idea of whether you’ll party away your grades. That’s up to you.

Adcoms aren’t going to forgive lesser grades for doing a sport.
