I don’t get your logic. By saying that if someone actually understands research, then they might as well be a doctor, is counterproductive. Is it bad that someone wants to get an introduction to research at an early age before they commit completely to it and go through, as you said, “9 years of school” to become a PhD? Plus, although my research experience may be uncommon for a high schooler, for a bonafide researcher at any level - PhD candidate, PhD, postdoc, etc. - it is almost nothing. The most accomplished researchers will accumulate literally hundreds of publications during a lifetime, and maybe 8-10 a year. Yes, I have become as well versed as a PhD on the areas I am researching, but a real PhD knows that times a hundred. High school researchers never claim to know as much as a PhD, but they might know as much in one certain research project. Finally, I truly don’t understand your statement that “it doesnt make toooo much sense if a high school student produces medical research that is worthy of publication.” If I’m not mistaken, you too, kbbm24, were submitting a paper for publication - so isn’t that bit hypocritical?

@8yearman, you are very impressive. Are you in the PPSP for how many years? Hence a question about your post #19: Can you give the years, such as high school senior year or PPSP first year, etc., on your items No.1, No.2, No.3 and no.5 ?? Or were they all within your highschool years?

I think they were all during high school.

They are all during high school, except I started my patent in 8th grade. I’m a high school senior right now, applying to the combined medical programs.

^Excellent. Which combined programs are you applying? There may be some overlaps with my S2. He is applying to PPSP and a couple of others.

Wait, are 7yearman and 8year man different? Lol.

I have done some research as well, though not published (yet). I’m in the process of doing so…

Anyone hear back from Case?

7yearman is different from me, 8yearman. I haven’t heard from Case yet.

What are your stats and ECs?

Does anyone know when we hear back??

Random question to 8yearman and batpad and everybody else who’s applying this year: What did you write about for your second essay? The one about an achievement that wouldn’t appear on a resume? Just curious
(I’m also applying this year, but based on this thread, I have no chances whatsoever!)

hahaha m123456m! i was thinking the exact same thing after reading this thread!!

Btw, Decisions are announced Feb 1st. Only a few weeks away.

Gl everyone.

^ Feb 1st for Interviews?

I would assume so. The website says admission decisions are announced for PPSP programs on that date

Just got an email from the director. Decisions for Case undergrad and scholarship notification, along with a possible PPSP Medicine interview invitation or rejection, will be mailed out on Jan 28. They will be sending emails with this info starting 12 pm on this coming Saturday (Jan 29). Good luck to all CC applicants- getting really nervous :(

yup got the same email - soo nervous!! gluck everyone!

Good Luck to all the applicants

I applied but didn’t get that email? Do you have a phone number on the email I might be able to call to confirm they received my app? Thanks.

admission@case.edu or telephone at 216.368.4450.
