My son has narrowed his decision down to Case Western, Villanova and Rose Hulman. He has been admitted in engineering programs of all these schools but hoping to do both engineering and business (maybe minor) since he want to open a technology Corp. in the future. Any comments on the programs would be appreciated. Thank you!

Any opinion??

The two stronger engineering programs are RHIT and CWRU. I would say it is a matter of personal preference. Terre Haute, IND (RHIT) vs. Cleveland (CWRU). Large research-centric university (CWRU) vs. undergraduate focus (RHIT). RHIT does not have a business program, but has an engineering management department. CWRU has a business school that offers both UG and graduate degree programs. I don’t think you can go wrong either way, but it’s just a matter of the college experience you are looking for.

Definitely Case. It offers the best of Science and Arts. Rose Hulman is very narrow in focus and will likely not offer much diversity. Villanova is a regional university and while highly rated, it definitely isn’t rated even close to Case… Case is #38 nationally and Villanova is #1 regionally for the Middle States. Case is a no brainer!

Oh, and I will note that the male-to-female ratio at Rose Hulman is 4-to-1. That’s very lopsided compared to Case, which is a more balanced 55:45. Just sayin’.

And Case is in the middle of Cleveland’s University Circle, rich in cultural/arts institutions while RHIT is in the middle of…Terre Haute, Indiana.
