<p>It was obvious that all of the candidates had planned (carefully) for the televised debate, (for each) (answer to) the opening question showed evidence (of having been) rehearsed. (No error)</p>

<p>The answer is E. Since the rehersal happened before the debate, which was already in the past, why is it correct to include a present perfect progressive tense like "having been"?</p>
