CBSE vs IB

Now many good schools in India have started offering IB. Which one is actually better for students wanting to go to the US - CBSE or IB and why?

IB 10 char

IB. It's internationally-recognised.

But does IB realy give a student an edge in elite college admissions? Is it better to take IB+few ECs or CBSE+many ECs+more depth in ECs?

The options I have are to either be at my current school and do CBSE or to go to a boarding school and do IB. But if I do the second, my ECAs will become limited. Also, the IB schools which I am looking at do not have any leadership positions offered and it is not easy to start a club there. I am looking at the top Universities in the US - HYPS, MIT and other similar ones. My current school (the CBSE one) sends 2-5 students every year from 80 to these schools. My teachers there think that I stand a good chance at these.

So, in short, is it better to do CBSE and some ECAs in depth and have leadership positions or to do IB and have less time for ECA and no leadership positions.
