@evan241 what other scholarships did you apply for?
Hey guys,
CBYX called me a couple days ago to tell me that I’d been accepted! I was told that I’d receive an email today with a link to some paperwork stuff. Did any other people from AFS who won the scholarship hear something like that?
I didn’t get into CBYX… very happy I accepted NSLI-Y last week instead!
I got alternate!! I am so thankful to know they saw potential in me! I worked so hard and I’m so glad it still might be possible for me to travel to Germany 2015-2016!!

@linzyh just be yourself, the interview is actually really fun! They want someone who is confident, so try not to be to shy I suggest getting the other applicants phone numbers so you can keep in contact with them!
@cblake233 Congrats!! Typically a lot of alternates end up going, so I wish you luck Are you going to be on the conference call tonight?? I’m really annoyed because I can’t make it tonight- the info is probably going to be pretty straightforward, though.
@evan241 yes I will! they’re going to send out a recording of it to everyone so you don’t have to worry!
I am seriously so, so, SO happy to see so much enthusiasm here on this website about studying abroad. (Most of the stuff I saw before I actually looked at the study abroad section were people just wanting to go abroad to make themselves look better for college apps. It can def. help make a good impression, but it’s something that requires a lot of dedication and strength.)
