CC parents friends...i think i have it...

Ok first i would like to thank all of you for your help.
i did a lot of brainstorming last nigh and here is the result.
I have two main dreams: became a college professor and/or work on enterteniment industry.
so in order to persuit my dream i decided to be educated in the USA(plus i love here).1 i though about applying to USC and Northwestern (film and tv major) but then i realised since i don't want to be a director or screenwriter i had no more reason to estudy film.So i thought about what i like and i came up with two ideias, since i'm very good in science and math why not do a major in science and a minor in Buss (or vice-versa). this way both of my dream would be possible.
Them i came up with a list of schools that were not too expensive( i have welthy parents but i thought wasn't fair to make them pay too much money) so i choosed public schools that had strong science programs , buss and also film, tv major(just in case i decided to go for it...well we never know).
UT austin
indiana university bloom.
UC boulder
UW-seattle
U florida
u pitt
but then i reaised that i have choosed those schools based only on prestige. That's when i freak out.. so i did more brainstorming and made i list of things i want .
-Nice weather
-in or near big city( i'm from i huge city i need to be near a large city)
-Good connections( for the enterteniment industry and also for grad school)
-friendlly student body( i've realised how important that is after going to some not friendly at all cities)
ok what about california..i haven't applied to any schools there.
USC too expensive, UCLA hard to get in, UCSD maybe, what about pepperdine university? what do you guys think?Maybe a college then i transfer to ucla?which college?
GUYS I NEED TWO MORE SCHOOLS THAT WOULD FIT MY REQUIREMENTS...I CANNOT GO SLEEP WITHOUT SOVING MY PROBLEM>>HELP

Alhough I really think this is a haphazard process, and would urge great caution- A Cal State near L.A. (Long Beach?) ? Or UC- Irvine ? I really don't know anything about California state schools (except a little about a few ). I still think UT-Dallas is one to consider. How about a state school on a train route easy commute to NYC? (I'm trying to think about the entertainment aspect.)

A school that flies under the radar that you might look into: Hofstra University on Long Island, NY. Train ride into Manhattan (maybe a half hour?); Francis Ford Coppola went there; I think the ties to the entertainment industry are there. Worth checking out to see if it appeals to you. Very attractive contemporary campus; felt very friendly. Business program touts its tied to Manhattan business and industry. There are a high percentage of "locals" (New York metropolitan area) there, but since they are New Yorkers, I don't think it would necessarily feel too insular ;).

California? Film? Try..
http://ftv.chapman.edu/

I've heard Chapman has a great film program.

I think you need a more specific list. big/med/small, rural/suburb/city etc...

Have you tried Princeton Review's Counselor-O-Matic? The safety/match/reach thing doesn't really work, but it will help suggest schools. And College Board has one too.

Good luck! :D

A college that I always thought looked interesting is Wagner College (NY). Close proximity to NYC and an emphasis on "experiential learning" (internships), as well as research opportunities in the sciences may make it worth a look for you. I have no direct knowledge of the school and never visited, but maybe some other CC parents can provide additional information.

Cal State Northridge

I think USC has a graduate program in Entertainment Business (can't remember exactly what it's called, but it's something like that). Maybe you could go where ever for your undergrad, then do a master's program like that.
