I, as everyone else does, probably, want to apologize for posting this "chance" thread, but the recent posting of my grades on my CC website has me worried and questioning for my admissions into the University of Florida. It would be greatly appreciated if any of you transfers, preferably Engineering majors, but anyone would help, would read this all the way through.

Well, when I started college this past semester, I began with 27 credit hours from all the AP/AICE exams I took and passed, so on my mind was the "I'm gonna get my A/A in a year instead of two!" thing. But I registered for classes not knowing how much different college was going to be than high school. I signed up for General Biology, Speech, Wellness, Physics 1 with Calculus, and Calculus 2.

I got my grades back today and found out that in my first semester of college I have accumulated a 3.0 GPA. Much MUCH worse than I expected them to be, as college gave me a huge challenge compared to high school, and I kept the same old high school study habits, which I really regret. Now if I try realllllly hard in the last 4 classes I have to take it will raise my GPA to a 3.44, which SHOULD allow me acceptance, but I'm not sure. The classes I have remaining are Calculus 3, Physics 2 with Calculus, College Chemistry 2, and Differential Equations, so it's going to be difficult to maintain a 4.0 in those classes.

Now here is where it gets a little bit fuzzy. I'm almost certain at this point in time they won't accept me, but I'm a veteran with the University of Florida and I know ALLLL about their values. I have 2 siblings (one is an in-law) who have received master's degrees from the University, one from the Fisher School of Accounting and the other from The College of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, with both of them being members in the UFAlumni association. Not only that, but I have done many community service hours, as well as serving 3 years of employment at the same establishment, and I will be partaking in an Engineering internship at a pretty large company, Jacobs Engineering, this summer.

So with all that being said, what do you think my chances are in transferring in the Fall of 2012?

Thanks a lot if you read this! I really appreciate it!
