Hi all,

I am currently a Sophomore at Florida State University (FSU) majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I have lived in Tallahassee my entire life and want out and also away from the disaster that is FAMU/FSU College of Engineering. I have a 3.57 GPA and was wondering what my chances are for transferring to UF. My ECs include Professional Job in a software company, Volunteer work, Flying (I am a pilot), and other miscellaneous things. My GPA will be going up in the fall to around a 3.64 as I have a light load of only Calc3, ODE, and Mech. Engineering Tools.

So, what do you think my chances are?

Thanks,
Rwaters

Well, I think your chances would depend on how many credits you have. If you have more than 60, I think you have better chances, your GPA is in like the top 50% for transfer applicants though. I’ve applied for a different program and it has been EXTREMELY difficult to communicate with Admissions or anyone with UF for that matter. Also, apply now if you want to get in for Spring 2010. Good luck!

my friend got in to UF college of engineering with a 3.3-3.4 from FIU, i got into CLAS with a 3.76 (now changed major within college of engineering as well)

just finished my first summer there.

Thank you for the replies. I will have 71 hours when I plan on transferring at the end of the fall. I just made Dean’s List this summer semester so hopefully that will help out. I already have an application in and just need to fax a couple of updates so hopefully this works.

It’ll be worth applying if you want out that badly.

well i also have applications out to a couple Canadian schools (I am also a Canadian Citizen) but I will stay in FL if I can.
