CC transfer to Ivy League for Fall 2015

Good Morning!

I am new to this forum and just have some questions regarding transferring as a community college.

Currently, I'm an English major attending CC with a GPA of 3.973, no extra-curricular activities due to the fact that I have to work to help my family with rent. I'm in my 3rd semester, and so far, I took 2 honor classes (Spring 2014), am taking 2 more at the moment (Fall 2014), and plan to take 3 more in the Spring 2015 Semester. So I'll graduate with 7 honor classes in May 2015 with Honors distinction on my diploma. I only received one A- on Speech, the rest of my grades are all A's. I plan on having the rest of my grades all A's too. So if all goes well, I'll have a 3.98 when I graduate.

My HS GPA is 2.92, took 2 years off then enrolled into community college. My SAT back in HS was 1290 (took it hungover, didn't care about school at the time, just work) but I plan to retake it this December and score 2100 or above.

What would be my chances of being admitted to schools like Stanford, UChicago, Columbia GS, UPenn, Cornell or NYU?

I would love to have an Ivy League education, be pushed intellectually, and be surrounded by people I can learn a great deal from.

Would having no extra-curricular activities hurt my chances of being admitted? I have to work throughout college regardless if I transfer or not. I can't cut back work hours due to the fact that I need money for rent, food, bus pass, phone bill, etc.

I already know who to ask for letters of recommendation, and am currently writing for my college newspaper. I'm also applying for the Jack Kent Cooke Transfer Scholarship!

What kind of advice are you getting from the Transfer Advisor at your CC? Has anyone been admitted to the places on your list in recent years?

If you are female, check out Bryn Mawr. That college is CC transfer friendly.

Your HS records will be behind you after you get your AA degree. Colleges will only look at the CC GPA you have in decision making.

OTOH you should have a lot more safety schools on your list than the lottery schools you have. For example, C Chicago accepted 22 transfer students in 2012, less than 1% of the applicants. NYU is a possible target school, but are you paying full freight?

Thanks for the advice, I ended up enrolling into University of Southern California. Got accepted into Rutgers - New Brunswick, Columbia University - School of General Studies, & UC Davis.
