CC transfer to UC Irvine advice and help please!

Hello I’m applying to UC Irvine and I’m hoping to transfer for Fall 2016
My stats are

Major: Criminology
-GPA:~ 3.70 both transferable and non transferable 4.0 for all major classes)
-AA in Criminal justice.
-IGETC: will complete by end of Fall 2015
-TAG: I’m applying for this but i know its not a guarantee to get in.
-Graduated Cum Laude( if that makes any difference)
-Internship this fall 2015 at the Los Angeles Coroner’s office
-I won the Criminal justice scholarship at my College

  • Worked for the Red light camera’s for 4 years ( so that was somewhat part of the criminal justice system)

Also so you have any tips on what to write on my personal statement? I’m a single mom so I don’t have much time to volunteer cause I’m super busy with my son and his sports. \Thank you!
p.s. i also wrote this on another forum but didnt get any responses

Umm, TAG is a guarantee.

“Transfer Admission Guarantee”

Keyword: Guarantee

TAG actually IS a guarantee (it stands for Transfer Admission Guarantee) so long as you meet the requirements:

http://www.admissions.uci.edu/applicants/tag.html

Do you have any upper division units from your CSU? If so, be wary of unit caps.

Your ECs look excellent. There are 2 PS prompts, which can be found here: http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/how-to-apply/personal-statement/

Brainstorm some ideas, get some feedback from trusted friends/teachers and see what you end up with.

@LuckyName Actually, it’s not. Not with UC irvine. I read through the WHOLE transfer thread for this year and many people who applied for tag did not get accepted. They had all the requirements too

Lots of people THINK they have met all requirements, but generally they are missing something.

OR, the admissions office made a mistake, and they get their decision overturned.

It’s a guarantee, assuming you fulfill the TAG requirements. It’s more stringent than regular admissions.

Btw, cool major.

@luckie1367 thank you so much. I’m going to make sure 100 percent that I have all the requirements
