My kid is very interested in CCA for illustration. The location is perfect, the facilities beautiful, the work coming out of there looks fantastic, and the faculty appear to be seasoned pros working for all the best publications in existence. Anyone have experience with this school? Thanks!!
I’m not sure about illustration specifically, but CCA has a well-respected program and hires interesting teaching staff. Their graduates tend to gain employment (should they want to) within art fields.
Two of their best programs are architecture and design - both industrial and graphic - and you’re correct in assessing the strong work coming from the students.
First-years are located in Oakland at the wonderful campus with dorm options, but subsequently most teaching after that happens at the San Francisco location, which while vibrant and exciting, can be a challenge for housing.
Thanks so much!! I understand there is a shuttle bus between the two campuses, so hopefully she can live in Oakland beyond freshman year. We’ll find out.
