CCAD or KCAI, anyone?

Hi, does anybody have any comments about the Colombus College of Art & Design or the Kansas City Art Institute? (the animation major in particular) How do they fare compared to the more "well-known" art schools?

I can't speak for KCAI,but CCA is well-known for industrial design.

We know of 5 current CCAD students....2 are looking to transfer out, the third is not that far along, but doesn't feel like he's advancing - not doing anything he didn't do last year in AP Portfolio course.

Thanks for your replies =)

Pardon me for being dumb, but whats an AP portfolio course?
Anybody else out there heard anything about KCAI?

Sorry - AP Portfolio.....an advanced placement studio course....at our HS it's 2 class periods per day long...instead of a test in May, you submit a portfolio of selected works done over the course year for scoring. Not sure if this is true at all schools, but at ours it has a number of prerequisite courses that must be completed by end of junior year before you can enroll. Also, kids had to meet with the teacher at end of jr. year and received 3-4 assignments that were to be completed over the summer and turned in as soon as sr. year started.

Oh i see...........damn wish we had something like that here in Malaysia, lol..........beachy, the 2 friends you say who want to transfer out, do you know their reasons why? And do you know what the other 2 unmentioned students think about the college?

Seems to be the same type of unhappiness....not feeling challenged enough...don't feel like they are growing at all..don't see their skills improving....more like stagnating...I heard one comment about profs seeming uninterested and unavailable...they just can't seem to find enough good about the school to want to stay and be happy.

I don't have a lot of contact with the other 2 students, but can say that the boy was very talented, but seemed to be a personality that is just willing to drift along with the tide...happy enough to do just enough to get by...nice kid, but didn't exhibit a whole lot of enthusiasm or energy for much of anything through high school.
