i spoke to ucla advisor and said that if i transfer to uci for the winter 09 quarter, and in november apply for some uc's, would their be a confliction because i would be in a uc in the winter...they told me "no, just don't exceed 129 quarter units"

i asked whether i would be given less priority, they said "no, ccc to uc and uc to uc are given same priority"...this was new to me, as far as i know ccc to uc has a better chance

anyways, do u think this is correct or a bit fishy...btw, i spoke to 2 la advisers on the phone and they both said the same thing

I got accepted to UCI but rejected at UCLA for winter 09. My major is mechanical engineering. I want to apply to Berkeley and LA for Fall 09 too. The thing is that i dont know whether i'll be accepted in Fall, so cant take the risk and turn down UCI.

ccforumag-- according to your counselor, if we maintain a junior eligibility by not completing more than 129 units, we'd be given the same priority.

Sleeper-- yeah man.. i had 3.77 with A's in all the major preparation courses. I would have finished every single prerequisite including the GE's by this fall. Still very ****ed about the rejection. I think most probably because it is a winter semester and there must have been a lot of traffic..

well if a UC receives 2 candidates, both with similar stats, im sure theyll probably give the edge to the ccc student because the other kid is already at a 4yr school and the ccc student isnt.......... unless we've been lied to by our counselors. shiet, it even says on UC pamphlets that ccc students receive the highest consideration over anyone else
