Did anyone else apply to this program? Stats? Location? We should start an RSI-like thread for the 100 of us that applied.

A lot of cancer-oriented EC's, including a research internship

I wish we could get something back from them. Even a "hey, we got your stuff." I don't understand why the admissions process takes them soooo long... : (

i got in and i didn't go...it's not that big of a deal.

Whoa. Just because it doesn't carry the status or prestige of RSI doesn't mean that it isn't a big deal. Of course getting into this program doesn't grant me privileges like having someone fight against my admissions decision, but it will definitely make my summer.

What is this internship?

ccis.stanford.edu
on the left sidebar there is a link to "internships"

Ashveer, did u apply to RSI too?

I was debating it but due to family issues I would not have been able to attend, even if admitted.

it's my opinion that CCIS is just as prestigious as RSI. to get in, you really have to be a top-notch student.

The more and more I look at it, its seems more PR than anything. But hey, that's a huge reason that I have my internship during the school year.

yea, i'm kinda siding with Ashveer on thiis. Not to be a biased bitter rejectee or anything, but seriously, *** is a Hagan fellow.

masamune, to be a top-notched student is a given prerequisite to apply to these prestigious summer program. But let me tell you that being a top-notched student sometimes just doesn't cut it. How can you differentiate yourself from the rest?

does you guys know if anyone has declined to go to CCIS this summer, except for that alternate from Gunn?

.....

Yeah...I agree.

I was simply stating that CCIS is just as good as RSI.

Or at least that's how I see it...

i'm a CCISer and a rickoid (RSIer). I have to say that RSI is better because while CCIS is only statewide, RSI is nationwide, so more selectivity?

"does you guys know if anyone has declined to go to CCIS this summer"? i really want to know because i'm an alternate (i won't be one if Dr. Utz hadn't lost my app...)

ooo.

yeah i guess that makes sense.
