CCM Voice Prescreening Results?

Has anybody heard back from CCM about the prescreening recordings?

It’s a bit early yet and each school has it’s own timeline. I don’t know of anyone who’s heard from CCM yet…

Haha I’m so nervous! Thank you
Does anybody know when they are suppose to send them out?

Go through their web site and see if it mentions a date. Some schools give ample advance notice while others will let you know just 2 weeks ahead of the audition date. Given that air fare is going up by the minute, I don’t think there is anything wrong with calling or e-mailing the department and politely asking when you might expect to hear from them.

Check CCM’s application website. There is a link for “Check my status”. Also, the banner on the CCM application website states today that, despite the passing of the 12/1 application deadline, they are still accepting applications for all programs except MT.

(I also noted that the deadline for the upload of prescreening to getacceptd was fouled up in their admission instructions, along with a few other things, like the College Prep/guidance counselor form instructions…notably, that the 11/23 deadline appeared as 11/24 and 11/25 in different parts of UC’s website…so I wonder if they are cutting some slack for that?)

Thank you so much for the information :)

Goodness, that sounds early; most of the schools to which I’ve applied only had the pre-screen deadline at December 1st.

SopranosGotPower, can you let us know when you know? My son did prescreening for their new commercial music production. Not sure if all prescreens hear at the same time?

We heard today from CCM Graduate Admissions that Prescreen Decisions will be announced sometime next week. Yay! Fingers crossed …

(Again, that’s for graduate admissions. It may or may not apply to undergraduate admissions, but prescreen and application due dates were the same for both.)

Thank you!!!

Shelly- When I hear any news, I will post on this thread :)

Thanks SimpleLife and SopranosGotPower. Wishing both of you well at all the places you audition.
S’s prescreen deadline for commercial music production was a week after the vocals, so I don’t know how that will affect his result timetable. He’s being very cool about it, but I am anxious – I ask him to check his email every five minutes! lol
Excited to hear for all of you!

I believe UC wraps up exam week as of 12/14; would they have completed review of the prescreens before end of semester?

CCM prescreen results are out!

My son just got his notification, via email, at 9am this morning. Dec 20.
He’s a graduate applicant.

Nothing yet from CCM…then again I’m an undergrad :)

Nothing for me either. I have a friend that did get her result for CCM undergrad, so I’m wondering if not getting one means I got rejected. It’s pretty scary. CCM would be one of my top choices, despite everyone around me (meaning adults that aren’t in music) telling me not to go to Ohio. I know prescreening at CCM is really tough though. Gah, I’m so jealous of people that pass! But I guess there is going to be a right time for everything. I’ll get in where I fit, and I can re-audition for schools like CCM and MSM for grad school.

I wonder how they notify rejections. By mail or by email? I wonder why they would wait to send out rejections later on though… if I have friends that are receiving audition invites, wouldn’t I want to at least know for sure that I did NOT get one, instead of just receiving nothing?

Congrats to your son, SimpleLife. SopranosGotPower and ImThinking, I will still be keeping my fingers crossed for ya’ll. Nothing for my son yet, but as his deadline was after yours, I’m still thinking he wouldn’t be hearing yet anyway.

If you go check your status on the CCM website, you can see if you are rejected or not. They are sending rejection letters. I was denied. So I’m guessing if you did not get an email today, you are rejected.

^Aw, that’s very sad. I’m sorry, tenor2595.

I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for you, SopranosGotPower and Im Thinking. Wishing you both the best.

Im Thinking, you expressed the perfect attitude for all of this in your last post on this thread. Nearly everyone will end up sliding right into the place where they most belong. When the process is over, round pegs will be in round holes, square pegs will be in square holes, and little triangular pegs will be in their triangular-shaped holes. It will all work out. Thankfully, most of these schools tend to be experts on who fits where. We, while seeking what we THINK we want, simply don’t have the big picture on where we might best fit. In that way, this whole process is sort of self-selecting. And that’s a good thing!

Of course, sometimes these schools miss the mark. Or they have more excellent candidates than slots and must regrettably turn people away. They do their best to get it right, I’m sure.

My best to everybody! May we all find just where we need to be in life …

Well guess what!? Oddly, the email was sent to my dad, and not to me. I wonder why… but I won’t complain. I actually DID pass the prescreening for CCM! I am so very happy about this. I’m glad to have a chance to audition at this school because I’m really interested in it. Hooray! It’s nice to get good news when you expect the worst.

Just so I’m not saying the wrong thing… my email was actually sent to me today. They only CC’d my dad. So all hope is not lost for people that did not get an email on 12/20! My email came at exactly 7AM PST, to my email and also my dad’s. I was just distracted by how my dad told me, that I thought they had accidentally only sent it to him. I actually think this is a really efficient way of notification because if a student doesn’t check their email for some reason, their parents get the email.
