ceat a crucial road block and need sum major advi

Hey every1....im writing because i need sum major advice because i am very confused on what to do with my life rite now... ok so heres the situation...I am a sophomore going into my second semester however things have been pretty rough on me recently... Currently my gpa has fallen to a 3.07 which I know is very bad and I feel like I have ruined my chances for getting into med school since every1 always talks about a 3.5 and above.... I wondering if some1 could tell me do u think its time for me to start to look at other options or should i continue to work hard and bring that gpa up. I got a B in bio and a B in ochem this semester but what ruined me was calculus 2 which i got a d in... i plan on retaking it but i feel very demoralized bc its not like i didn put effort into school...i still want to go to med school but i also have to be realistic....i was hoping if sum1 could help me on wat to do next...

Retake calc II, get your GPA up, and get some unique ECs. I am a freshman, but I have grade troubles too. Just make yourself standout in otherways and do your best. If you don't have a 3.4 + by the end of soph. year, maybe look at other careers.

Sorry to bump this, just wondering what's going on with the OP?

I know it's been somewhat a long time since you have posted this but i hope you are still pursuing your potential career in medicine.

As for your D, that is unfortunate. My friend, whose also premed, also made a D in her clac class (Rice math classes rarely curve). I suggest, that if u want to retake that class, take it at a different college. i think u have a fighting chance for med school. remember, you messed up your first semster of sophmore yr, not second semester of junior yr. i predict if you go on, you would have a 3.3 to a 3.4 gpa by the time med school apps go out which is not bad at all, all things considered. rememeber it's much better and easier to explain a low gpa if you had showed marked improvement than if you messed up on higher level courses showing you are not apt to handle medical school
