Centerville's Odenigbo chooses NU over Stanford and Notre Dame

Centerville's Odenigbo commits to Northwestern

This is the biggest football recruiting triumph in the program's history perhaps. Congratulations to the Wildcats!! I always like it when strong academic schools like NU, Stanford, Duke and ND do well in college sports.

Nice! Thanks for posting.

That’s awesome - I heard about this from a friend earlier today.

“This is the biggest football recruiting triumph in the program’s history perhaps.”

A big one but not the biggest.

The 'Cats lost out on 2 other 4* defensive recruits due to academics; one didn’t have the grades/scores and the other has a NCAA clearinghouse issue so he couldn’t get an official visit.

If the NCAA gets their act together and clears the paperwork issue (don’t know why it is taking so long), the recruit may very well likely switch from UMD to NU (NU was always his 1st choice).

The 'Cats are also in on a TAMU commit who is coming to visit and are the lead school in former no.1 WR recruit, Prater, who is transferring from USC, but there are concerns whether he will get past admissions.

On the other front, the hoops 'Cats suffer 2 agonizing losses; the nagging injuries to Cobb and Marcotullio have killed depth and the 3rd option, but still, but for a made FT or shot…

Nice win for NU over Sparty today. Go Cats!

Before today’s win, NU was ranked 30 in the nation; MSU was ranked 5.

Can only imagine NU will go down, maybe even to top 25, in which case they’ll get a little number next to their name when they play on ESPN.

Go Cats!!!

I hope you guys finally make the tourney this year

If the 'Cats hadn’t choked away either of the UM or UI games, they would be sitting pretty (really should’ve had them both).

The win over MSU tho keeps them in the hunt; now have to get 1 road win against UW or Minny.

Former USC player and the no.1 rated WR in his class, Kyle Prater, has decided to transfer to NU.

If the NCAA grants a waiver due to family issues, then Prater will have 3 yrs of eligibility left; otherwise, he will have to sit out a year.

The ‘Cats’ O is going to be scary-good in 2 yrs; now if they can just find a couple of corners and another pass rusher.
