Certificate in Financial Policy and Analysis?

I saw this in Lafayette's viewbook (labeled as Certificate in Finance there) and looked it up in the course catalog to find its requirements nearly identical to those of the A.B. in Economics, excepting a few elective requirements. What exactly is this degree? Does it count as a major or a minor? Would it be viewed by employers as identical to a B.S. in Finance or a B.B.A. concentrated in finance? And can I receive both the certificate in finance and a minor in economics?

This is probably a question better asked to the college admissions department, but I'm just checking here first in case someone can answer these questions.

I am going to ask in the Admissions office and find out for you!! :-)

Thank you very much!

Ok, here’s what I found out for you:

You should e-mail the head of the Econ. department. Her name is Prof. Susan Averett and her e-mail address is averetts@lafayette.edu. She will be able to answer that question for you!! :-)

Thank you! I’ll wait until next week to see if I get in first and then do just that.

Ok, good luck!!!
