I am currently an information science major and I was wondering about what employers tend to prefer. Do they care more about the degree or the certifications? I wanted to work in the IT field and I was wondering if employers would hire recent college graduates with a degree in Information Science but no certifications. I'm not talking about a person who's high in command and has a six figure salary. I was also wondering if employers preferred graduates with a degree in computer science instead of information science for IT jobs due to the more difficult coursework required for a CS degree. Will it be hard for me to find a job with a degree in information science? Thanks.
