CFA or MBA?

For a person going into one of the following:
S&T
Private Wealth Management
Portfolio management w/Hedge fund or mutual fund

......would it be more beneficial to have an MBA or a CFA?

Both. It's not like they are mutually exclusive. You probably won't be able to get into a good MBA program without work experience anyways, so why not work and get your CFA and see if you achieve your goals without an MBA?

Earning CFA designations will give you the practical finance knowledge that you need to be successful. It is certainly stronger than an MBA in that regard. However, an MBA may be necessary to progress further in your career.

Does anybody know how difficult the CFA exam is? What kind of study is required in order to be able to pass? I've read that there's only some 68,000 people with the charter in the world. And is it true that it's a lot more difficult than a CPA?

just different, includes econ and statistics, and takes longer to get. exam is given once a year, and to receive the charter , you need to get leveel III designation, so minimum 3 years if u pass all 3.

Is it worth all the intensive studying and costs? What are the actual realized benefits from obtaining a CFA?
