Okay, so when I talked to my ALO back in January for my ss interview, I asked when I could take my CFA. He said that he wouldn’t administer it until every other piece of my application was sent in…but he doesn’t have to be the one to do it, does he? Aren’t we supposed to be able to have a coach or someone similar give it to us? I’m just wondering if he has the choice to say that I can or cannot have someone else administer the test. Anyone know? Thanks!

i'm pretty sure it said any physical education teacher could administer it, but that's what i read a year ago so it might have changed.

The letter I got in the mail from the AFA stated it like this:

[quote]
Ask a teacher holding a physical education degree, your ALO, or JROTC instructor to read pages 9-16 of the Instructions to Candidate booklet, administer the test, complete the score sheet, and return it to you for entry into the online CFA form.

I'm sure your ALO knows best though so I'd keep to his advice. Also not taking the sooner just means more time to max out those scores :) Best of luck!

The idea is to give you as much time to improve your scores as possible. You can only submit one set (at least, that was how it worked before).

My only concern is that I'm ready for it now, but won't be in as good of shape when it comes time for it at the end of the application process. When school starts again, I won't have nearly as much time to workout. I mean, right now I can max out on several of the tests & come close in the rest. I just don't want to risk waiting too long and doing worse than I could've.

If you feel now is the right time, then find a PE teacher to administer it. It's your choice.

Your PE teacher can administer the test, but you may wish to think about it. An ALO may not be able to get you into the Academy, but they can certainly keep you out of the Academy. If your ALO is in the habit of administering this test himself/herself it might not be wise to go around him/her.

Do you think my JROTC CSM could administer it? He is basically a P.E. Instructor.

PE INSTRUCTOR = certified (licenced) by the state in which they teach.

Bachelors of Science (BS)degree - required.

If quoted correctly in post #3, then your JROTC instructor can anminister this test

Follow the directions............ & Pay attention to detail!

Hi!

Short version: Your ALO does NOT determine who/when/where you take your CFA.

If he/she want's to administer it I applaud them because it's tough to get my ALOs to do that. However...if you're pumped up and ready go for it! There's a list of acceptable folks to give it to you.

Just make sure you "nail" it!!! :-)
