<p>A bit nervous but shooting for Columbia, UPenn, UChicago, Rice, Boston University, Northwestern, NYU</p>

<p>I'm nepalese with citizenship in Canada with about a 15k annual family income.</p>

<p>Some stats:</p>

<p>GPA: 3.6/4.00 (UW), 4.0 (W) -- IB Diploma candidate
Rank: School doesn't rank but I'd say top 5%-10%?
SAT: 2020 retake october (expecting 2150+)
SAT II: 800 Math IIC, 740 Biology-m might retake biology or just take chem in November</p>

IB French B SL : 5 :s</p>

<p>Extra-Curriculars - ~ 150 hours of total service (not too phenomenal) </p>

<p>-Sophmore (Regional 2nd place), Junior (qualified for provincial tournament, top 10) and Senior year Rugby
-Training program before school for rugby at 6:30am 3 days a week for 1:30h
-Volunteered at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics
-Canadian Cancer Youth Society club, raise money for cancer research
-Model UN Club
-Science Club
-Very active in cultural Society, fundraised over $5000 for cultural centre, danced in cultural programs
-Volunteering at a hospital in residential care ~ 4 hours/week
-Volunteer at a doctor's office 1 day a week for 3 hours
-Soccer team in cultural society, won 1st place at some tournament
-Heart and Stroke society volunteer
-Asst-Coach for u-14 soccer
-Recreational self-taught piano, guitar</p>

<p>Worked at McDonalds for a year in sophmore year
Worked at Cineplex Theatres for ~5 months junior year
Work at Chapters right now</p>

<p>As has been stated many times in these pages, when you are applying to the super top schools, because of their low admission rates, it is impossible to know.</p>

<p>Even BU requires very high stats. But if you really want to ensure that you study in the US, pick out a couple more BU level type schools as matches or safeties, rather than reaches.</p>

<p>thanks for your input, anyone else got some input? maybe some other schools I should consider aside from these?</p>
