Harvard- Reach
Dartmouth- Reach
Northwestern- Lower reach
Emory- High Match
Georgetown- Match
University of Michigan- Match
Wake Forest- Match

Good luck! Intended major?

Probably Political Science or Economics

You might want to consider UChicago. A reach, but if you nail your essays there, I think you would be admitted.

I did really poorly on the SAT. I expect to get at least 2300+ next time I take it.

UChicago is pretty forgiving about that kind of stuff (unusual for schools of its caliber). If you can get your SAT up to 2300 Georgetown becomes a match and Northwestern becomes a high match, imo.

What are my chances for a school like Harvard or Dartmouth assuming I get my SAT 2300+.

Your chances increase A LOT. I would say right now you have about a 25% chance. A 2300+ would probably give you a 40% (ish) chance, imo. Still not guaranteed, but definitely a lot more favorable.

That sounds good. I just really bombed the June SAT.

Any other chances?

Bump.
I’ll chance everybody who chances me.

Bump.

Any more opinions on my chances?
What schools would you guys recommend as safeties?

I would recommend UGa as a safety as you are in-state and basically guaranteed admission. Georgia Tech would also be a good safety.
Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/562816-sarah-palin-doesn-t-stand-chance-do-i.html

UGA and Tech are shoo-ins. I know a kid from my school who was a lot dumber than me and lazy. He didn’t even turn in an essay, and he got into UGA.

Techs a bit more difficult; but I’m taking a couple courses there right now so it shouldn’t be hard.

Chance me and I’ll chance you.
