The problem is that much of this list in post #20 is not suitable for the OP’s intended major (electrical engineering as described in post #5). Pitzer and Occidental do not have the major either, but SCU and USD do. Harvey Mudd has a general engineering science degree program within which one can emphasize electrical engineering.

Use [Accredited Program Search](http://main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx) to search for ABET accredited electrical engineering degree programs. At some smaller schools, there may be a general engineering science degree program allowing emphasis on electrical engineering (e.g. Harvey Mudd).

Other private schools in California with electrical engineering:

Caltech
Loyola Marymount
University of the Pacific

Other public schools in California with electrical engineering:

UC Davis, Irvine, Riverside, San Diego
Cal Poly SLO, Pomona
CSU 11 others

Of the above “other” schools in California, the ones that have the most reputation are Caltech, Harvey Mudd, the UCs, and the Cal Polys. San Jose State and SCU do have a local advantage in recruiting by Silicon Valley computer and electronics companies (so do Berkeley, Stanford, and UCSC).

If you are willing to stay in the state you currently live in, the state universities there may also be suitable.
