Chance a friend for a job

Class of (May) 2011 from USC (University of Southern California, not University of South Carolina)
Major: Civil Engineering

High school GPA: 3.8 unweighted
Overall GPA: 3.4
Major GPA: 3.4

Internship and work experience: half a year
Honors and Awards: Presidential Scholarship, Dean's List for 3 semesters
Activities: Participation in engineering clubs/societies, competitive running

Given that the economy sucks, what are the chances he is offered a job related to his major and/or a job that pays more than $15/hour before he graduates?

I’d say most any engineering job would pay more than $15 an hour. $15 an hour might be typical with some paid internships but for a full time engineering job, I think that’s really low.

As for his chances, those stats seem pretty good. If the work experience was good (or especially if it is relevant to the company he is applying to) then I would think he’d have a good chance. Just my two cents…
