SAT Score: Aiming to get 2500 or above in October, will take US History, Math II, and Spanish subject tests (hoping over 700 in all)</p>

-AP English Literature (all year)
-AP Calculus AB (all year)

-Marching Band (3 years) Played tenor drums in 10th grade, snare 11th and 12th. Assistant Percussion Captain 12th grade.
-National Honor Society (11th and 12th grade) about 120 hours of community service including an unpaid internship at MIT with One Laptop Per Child for 3 weeks/30 hours per week.
-People to People trip to Europe for 3 weeks (10th grade) - earned high school credit
-Concert/Symphonic Band as a class all four years in percussion. Performed in Kennedy Center in 12th grade, will perform in Carnegie Hall.
-Spanish Club (11th and 12th grade)
-International Club (12th grade)
-School Ambassador (12th grade)
-Band Camp Counselor (1 week 12th grade summer)</p>

<p>Problems: Might have to be considered an international student if I don't receive my permanent residency by application time :(</p>

<p>Impressive! I really couldn’t offer an opinion on your chances, but you need to make sure you get your stuff straight. First of all, your unweighted GPA should be lower than your weighted GPA. Secondly, the SAT maxes at 2400, so “at least” a 2500 is impossible. Finally, make that MIT internship stand out more (I’m thinking it’s own bullet point. lol).</p>

<p>You’re definitely in the running for the ivys, but like they all say, it’s always tough to get in. If you get 2400 (which is what I think you meant), it’ll definitely bolster your chance.</p>

But seriously, you have legit possibilities, and since you are a minority you are definitely given a huge boost… but where is your class rank? Thats kind of important to supply. Other than that, if you have all of what you say you have, you are in to all of those schools especially since you are gonna play in Carnegia Hall…</p>

<p>No one is in just because of a test score. OP is definitely competitive if a permanent resident, but it’s all shot if OP is international.</p>
