Chance a Georgetown Transfer

Hi! I am hoping to transfer for the fall of 2010 as a sophomore. I am a freshman at Tulane University and I got deferred then denied as a first-year applicant. Here are my stats:

HS GPA: around 3.5, not sure though because we have a 7.0 scale
SAT: 2180, 1470 on the 1600
Got 18 credit hours from my 5 APs: 4's on Macro, Micro, Calc AB, and Chem, and a 5 on English Lit
Taking 16 credit hours this semester, can manage at least a 3.8 GPA
Honors program, and substantial merit scholarship

Please let me know!! This is so important to me

bump! please help this means a lot to me!

If you got a substantial merit scholarship from Tulane and are in the honors program — stay put.

I am not happy at Tulane

Ultimately, your success/GPA at Tulane will probably matter almost as much as all of your HS stats put together. If you are truly unhappy at TU, I have three suggests. First, don’t just apply to Georgetown so you don’t end up stuck at TU if you don’t get in to GU. Second, try to get involved at TU. I went there for undergrad a few years ago and TU is definitely a school where it helps to be involved in clubs in terms of meeting people ect (i’m assuming this has something to do with your unhappiness). Third, consider a change in major. Regardless, of what you do best of Luck!
