<p>I’m confused, don’t UCs consider only sophomore and junior grades? Why should the D and C affect the OP?</p>

<p>It really doesn’t, because college admissions officers at the UCs are smarter than that and understand the elevation of maturity and drive. It’s corporate America (Private Universities) that are full of pretentious punks, not the public colleges.</p>
<p>Haven’t read every single reply but here is my insight:
My track record is pretty similar to the stats you posted with a c/d in freshman year and then shaky grades rest of the way. When I realized this was probably horrible for uc’s I tried to make up for it asap with straight a’s my last three semesters of high school. As many have already said all that can be helped now is scores. I made it into all the uc’s except la and cal with a 3.6 uw 3.8 w gpa and 33 act-2150 sat.</p>
