Also, I know my scores are in the average/low range, but please don't suggest to take them again. I'm a rising senior and I'd rather focus on bettering my essays and taking subject tests.

Thanks!!

Wow! You are absolutely an involved student in every sense- just the kind I think Vassar is looking for. I like your approach to enhancing your app in ways other than standardized testing; it’s refreshing and reasonable considering your scores are competitive already. Don’t hesitate to apply, I think between your GPA and stellar ECs/ recommendations, you stand a great chance. Be sure to keep up your studies the fall of this year as they require the first quarter/trimester of senior grades.

I think the one thing they might consider is your French career- they recommend four years in the core subjects and you may want to include some info on the app as to why you didn’t take more French classes. I only took 1-2 myself and was unable to have more in my schedule because of APs and one elective. Although this should not hurt your chance of admission, as your schedule shows plenty of rigor.

@marianna221b‌ Thank you so much! I completely agree with the French aspect and explained it in the common app portion of my application. A move across the country coincided with a bad case of mono (bad luck always comes in pairs, doesn’t it?), so I consequently missed a bit of school at the beginning of freshman year. Therefore, the school wasn’t able to place me in the same classes I had enrolled in at my previous school. I’m hoping colleges understand this and keep that in mind when reviewing my application

Apols for the sexist aspect here, but with those stats if you are Male you have a really good chance of admission, if you are female not so much, Vassar gets lots and lots of female apps like yours, males fewer. if you’re fem you need to on point with SAT II’s over 750 each would help alot and great LOR would help much.
