Chance a junior for Stanford, Brown, etc and help me find safeties!

I'm curious what my chances are for some of my dream schools, and what some good safties/likelies would be for me!
College list so far: Stanford, Brown, Princeton, Harvard, UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Michigan (I know these are all great schools that are hard to get into, which is why I need help finding some safeties/likelies
Junior, female, half cubanGPA: 3.84 UW, 4.20 WRank: School doesn't rank, definitely in the top thoughPSAT: 207 this yearSAT: Will take in January, I'm terrified!SAT II: Chemistry (800), taking Math 2 and US History in MayPrivate school in Los Angeles, NO 4.0's, sends many kids to top schools
Desired major: Computer Science (but my school does not offer any related courses)
Course load: (most rigorous possible at my school)
9th: Ancient and Medieval History, English 9, Spanish 1, Honors Chemistry, Honors Algebra 2, Chorus (no APs offered, no other honors courses)
10th: Modern History, English 10, Spanish 2, AP Chemistry, Honors Pre-calc, Photography 1 (Chemistry and Biology only APs offered, same with honors)
11th: APUSH, Honors American Literature, Spanish 3, AP Calc BC, Honors Physics with Calculus (basically the first half of AP Physics C), Japanese 1, Photography 2 (again, all offered + an independent study)
WILL TAKE in 12th: AP Language and Composition, Honors Spanish 4, Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics, Differential Equations/Multivariable/Linear Algebra (some combination will be offered with a semester each, so I'm not sure which will be offered; regardless, I will take both semesters),

if you want a CS major a solid safety would be purdue

also georgia tech would be a likely match

Oh, I also like UChicago. I hadn’t really considered it until a few days ago, and I did a lot of research about it after I posted this. It sounds wonderful.

I hate to bump but… bump!

Ur not getting into any of those schools, be real and apply to ur state schools

@etennis12: I can’t tell if that is a joke or not… but if it isn’t, even considering the fact that I am the top of my class and last year my school sent 15% of the class to ivies?

^wait, ur a minority nvm. You will get in everywhere because you are Hispanic. You dont derserve it, but you will get in. This is the truth.

Don’t listen to etennis.

Get a good score on your SAT and you got just as good a chance, if not better, as anyone

As a minority female, you definitely have a better chance for Computer Science than most. Also, everything seems fine and sounds great, so as long as SAT/essays are fine, you should have a decent chance at all of them.

Though I am not a CS major (I am a senior), I suggest the following: Carnegie Mellon, UT Austin, Georgia Tech, USC, and Virginia Tech. Perhaps take a look at them :)

etennis has a point. sorry if it sounds harsh, but you’re really very lucky… screw the fact that you can afford to go to a top private school… hahaha I’d kill to be half URM but still be loaded

The point is irrelevant though. She still has amazing stats despite her cultural identity, and that’s why she’ll be fine.

amazing im sure you’ll get in

rayon, just go look at any of the early admission decisions for the ivies. anyone else with her stats would stand a shot, but that shot would be like the head of a sewing pin in comparison the the watermelon that’s been handed to her! you’ll be fine, coffeeandtea

I think the coolest thing is that your high school offers ancient and medieval history… I took AP world last year but the closer you got to the modern world, the more detailed it got.

I’m only trying to emphasize that she has decent stats rather than saying that she’s an auto-accept because she’s a minority; even if she wasn’t half-Cuban, she still holds good chances. I acknowledge, that because she is a minority, she has better chances (as I previously mentioned).

coffeeandtea, I’m impressed by your advanced mathematics courses (Differential Equations/Multivariable/Linear Algebra). Those types of courses will help you in CS. Has your school always offered these courses?

^Explain this. An Asian male with 2200+ and Valedictorian gets rejected from MIT. But, an African American male from same school with 1900 and only in top 10 percent gets in MIT. The Asian male had superior extracurriculars as well. There is no way around this. No seeing this is being naive and ignorant. I rest my case.

…I don’t mind helping those in lower economic strata with fewer opportunities, but I think it’s really unfair to base just on race… it’s no longer “helping,” then. it’s actually just hurting the rest of us

I don’t see anything wrong with the above example. I know more Asian Americans with 2300+ than I do African Americans with 1900. And statistically, that’s probably the case.

I can see why it may be unfair, but sadly, such is life. I’m Asian too, and I know it’s frustrating, but I’ve gotten over that reality.

Rayon, if a kid in a ghetto gets over a 1900 because they can’t afford tuition, then that’s really great (I got a bit over 2300, but my first practice test was in the 1900s). But she obviously can, so there’s a big difference. Race isn’t fair. Socioeconomic level is.

I know it’s unfair. But this isn’t a problem that is going to be fixed anytime soon. Besides complaining, there’s not much else to do. In fact, a lot of things in life are unfair. Just gotta move along. xD
