AP test scores?

uhh I got a 2 I’m not good with standardized tests

on which AP tests? all of them? And if UChicago is your dream school, definitely apply. The worst thing that will happen is that you get rejected. Write some fantastic essays :D

yea and ok! thanks :)

We are in a similar boat, 28 and 3.521. Haha I did take one of the hardest schedules though. :p

It is hard to say. I do know a person who got in with a 3.4 GPA, but that was when the University had a 27% acceptance rate.

Haha well good luck to everybody! I took the hardest classes at my school to who knows I like other colleges too I’m just applying here for the heck of it, I loved the campus and the tour made me fall in love but there are other colleges.

Write disgustingly good essays and you’ll have a shot. I met someone here that got a 480 on the math section of the SATs (I don’t know how she did on the rest).

Basically, if you don’t apply, you won’t get in. Us chancing you doesn’t help, it just gives you false expectations – our predictions are useless and most likely inaccurate. You know yourself better. Just trust the admissions officer to make the right choice; if you belong here, then you’ll get in.

thanks cookcfc! I think that makes the most sense haha! :)

UChicago is a very academic institution, so I highly doubt that good ECs could make up for low grades and scores. Also, UChicago is getting more and more popular each year, which means a continuously decreasing acceptance rate.

Didn’t mean to discourage you, but it would be worse to lie.

Yeah, it’s definitely a reach (it is for most everyone), but I would just advise that you pour your heart into your essays and show some true passion. I know a couple of people who have gotten in with similar stats, but they were pretty rare cases, I’m sure. In any case, I wish you the best of luck!

You should apply as you never know what will happen, but unfortunately I do not think you will get in. I know a person who got in with a similar GPA in tough classes, but their grandfather was a professor and they were a perfect match for the school in terms of personality. Also, they had a 34 or 35 ACT score.

Just apply! If you apply you’ll have a very small chance, but if you don’t you have 0 chance =). My test score is worse than yours and I applied EA. Crossing my fingers for magic to appear :D

thanks everybody! & good luck to you trucKN! Good Luck to everybody actually haha!! :)
