Low GPA and Decent Standardized Test Scores

<p>Hey,</p>

<p>I was wondering if it is possible to get in to UChicago (Early Action) with a 3.45 UW GPA. The college board says that they accept only 2% with that GPA. My SAT M/V is 1650 (800 M, 650 V) and my total SAT is 2190. </p>

<p>I do not have many ECs, but in the few I have, I have leadership and am really passionate about them. </p>

<p>I am planning on taking the ACTs and I KNOW I can get at least a 34. (For some reason, I do better on ACT practice tests, then the SATs)</p>

<p>My two short essays were really good, and my main was decent. If I get defered would be OK if I submit another essay (a REALLY good one)?</p>

<p>My junior year was not my greatest year (couple B-'s), but my mid year report for senior year will be amazing.</p>

<p>How do you get a 800 on the Math and not add 800 + 650 correctly?</p>

<p>Well anyways, a 3.45 is on the low side for UChicago but if the rest of your app looks good (the ESSAYS!!), you'll have a good chance.</p>
