*****I have been rejected from Notre Dame Early Action and Rice Early Decision.........any hope at all for JHU??? my CLASS RANK SUCKS....

Yeah I think you stand a good chance, but your class rank is not the best for JHU. That probably affects your decision, though I'm not saying you're rejected. I'm not sure honestly what your decision would be. Did you take the most rigorous course load?

^ I did take a rigorous course load, I have 10 A.P.s by the time I graduate, with 7-8 honors classes, I will have taken a total of 28 classes in high school all togehter.

In my school, the difference between the advanced classes and regulars classes is a lot, most kids in regular classes can easily make a 96+, while kids in honors classes struggle to make an 87+, my school only gives kids a 5 point advantage for taking advance classes, so kids in all honors end up with a weighted gpa of 93, while kids in regular classes end up with a 96 average.....

The class rank defintley made the difference for Notre Dame and Rice, these schools inculding JHU have 80+ percent of its freshman in the top 10 percent of its class, so that means only 13 percent of the kids are not top 10 percent. Most of the kids that are not in top 10 come from rigourous private schools/or are Urms/athletes/legacys, thats why I am so worried.

I don't think it's just your class rank that's going to effect you though. Italso doesn't help that you don't really have any ECs that stand out all that much, orthe fact that you are an Indian who's probably going into bio/premed. I'm not saying that you don't have a chance, because you most certainly do...just that it's not just your class rank that is hurting you. It's the other things as well.

^^^ I know most Indians go for pre-med/bio, but I want to major in Economics and thats the major I designated on my app....

I am happy, I just got waitlisted at WashU woot, woot.....I serouisly thought I was going to get rejected at WashU. I know they waitlist everyone, but still, this gives me a little hope for after 1 early decision rejection, and 1 early action rejection....

^^ I took myself off the financial aid list, I didn't know JHU was need-aware, my parents told me to take myself off(I applied, because I thought it was need-blind, and even though I probably wouldn't get any, I just wanted to see).

It's possible that admissions will find your essay about Hinduism unoriginal (No offense) because it's likely other Indian applicants (in past years and now) have written similar essays.

Wow, i'm generally surprised about the EA rejection...but I think you stand an okay shot. Good luck, it will all come down to April 1st, no use worrying now.

^^ I agree, the hinduism essay was probably very unoriginal for JHU(since so many indians are attracted to the school for its repututation with pre-med), but yah, the waiting is killing me.
