I have a pretty good idea of which are my safeties/reaches, but I'm more ambivalent about the matches. Any opinion is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hmmm. Naturally, those with Ivy dreams are favored more than those without.

lol maybe they all are just too busy to post?

I don’t know anything specific about the schools, but from what you have shown so far, you seem to be in the right direction. You have a good amount of ECs, and I think as long as you talk about your lack of opportunities at your school, that will help (I know that’s what I’m planning on doing).

I would look into the stats for each individual school, to see how they feel about GPAs and SAT scores. Your scores aren’t absolutely amazing, but I wouldn’t be too worried about that, because they are still pretty good.

You’re ECs are kind of laundry-list, so maybe don’t list all of them on the app, or try to at least show consistency in the way that you portray them (if that makes sense). Colleges love consistency.

Are you planning on applying for financial aid?

Haha, I was kidding… I needed 10 characters+ to reply :P

Thanks for the input! Yeah, there is really very little I can do in my school… Which is mostly why I’ll try to emphasize my internships and volunteer work.

I forgot to include that I’m thinking of applying to Fordham, but a bit on the fence about it.

And yes, I do plan on applying for financial aid. I understand that I’m unlikely to get much, but that’s a hurdle that my family and I are planning to tackle soon.

:) This makes 10 characters.

I think you’d get in to American, BU and Syracuse (it’s cold there, my Hawaiian friend:) with no problem. NyU is a bit of a reach, but not unreachable.I don’t know about the others, but good luck.

Really, schmohawk? Thanks for your input! And I’m dreading an East Coast winter! The only time I’ve been there was in March…

Yeah I would say you have a good shot at most of these. Howard and George Mason are definite ins, I would think. American, Boston are matches, so is Syracuse, unless your applying for journalism it’s more difficult to get in but I think you would still have a great chance. I would agree that NYU is a little bit more of a reach but there’s a definite possibility. Don’t know all that much about the other schools. Good luck, my fellow rising senior!

You’re Asian interested in Howard University? That’s quite uncommon.

House of London: Well. That’s embarrassing. My mom actually added that there and I just copy and pasted. I promptly took it off my official list, but it remains here.

Anyways, in a last ditch attempt to reanimate this thread, here is my (hopefully) FINAL list:

Boston U
NYU
American U
Fordham U
George Mason U (Safety)
Northeastern U
Temple U (Safety)
U of Virginia
